we may need to dip into our vast money reserves and get the band van road-ready for the trip to BOOfest. it's pretty crucial to our "image". $200 should cover the damage.

BOOFEST 2007 Nov 2-3

this is going to be big oil's next show, and for all i can tell it's the only one we have scheduled this entire fall, so we've gotta do it RIGHT.

details are here...maps, an incomplete list of the bands playing, and the history of the BOOFEST, which is a tradition that goes back to the 1970's...

i'm good any night this week. we can even do it over here at my new palace if you want to do it acoustic.

i'm kidding, of course. let's rock LOUD.

BIG OIL on UDTV (intro)

the song we're doing is "Theme From Los Gweirdos", which i'm pretty sure was a group collaboration from about 10-12 years ago when me & Bubba were jamming together in a project called "Los Gweirdos"...yes, with a "G"...which had Blue on drums, me on bass, Bubba and the Cuban Cowboy Jorge Navarro on guitars, and Don Undeen on saxophone. we updated it for Big Oil, and the track appears on our latest CD, "Spill" (featuring Greg Tierney on trumpet).

by "group collaboration" i mean that Bubba probably had more of a hand in it than anyone else...it sounds a LOT like Gritkisser...
